NRM NEWS

A round-up of the changes recently reported to Raildate...

York workshop is left with one qualified machinist and one qualified electrician, but the
workshop office is staffed by three people.  It is understood that neither the Engineering and
Rail operations Manager nor the Engineering Co-ordinator have engineering qualifications, but
the Rail Operations Co-ordinator does have an engineering qualification and oversees all the
rail movements on and off site.

At Shildon, there are three workshop staff - an Engineering and Rail Operations Co-ordinator
and two apprentices, who will leave when their contracts expire in the next few months.

New positions currently being advertised all have either "Manager" or "Senior Executive" as
part of their job titles (with salaries to match).  In total, there are 19 job cuts elsewhere.
